Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is The Paw Bus?

The Paw Bus is a structured dog adventure and transportation service in Ottawa. We safely pick up your dog from home, transport them in a secured vehicle, and take them on supervised group hikes designed to provide exercise, mental stimulation, and social balance.

How do you decide which dogs hike together?

We carefully assess temperament, energy level, and social skills before placing dogs in group hikes. We build balanced packs to ensure a safe, structured, and positive experience for every dog.

Does my dog need to meet you first?

Yes. Every dog must complete an initial assessment before joining group adventures. This allows us to evaluate behavior, comfort in a vehicle, and suitability for structured pack hikes.

Do dogs ride freely in the vehicle?

No. Safety is our priority. Dogs are transported in secured setups using proper restraints or crates to ensure safe travel at all times.

You can keep the couch. I’ve got a hike.

Do I need to be home for pickup and drop-off?

Not necessarily. Many clients provide secure access arrangements such as a lockbox or designated entry instructions. We prioritize professionalism and secure handling at all times.

What are the vaccination requirements?

All dogs must be current on core vaccinations and be in good health. Proof of vaccination is required before service begins. Dogs showing signs of illness will not participate in group activities.
