1. Services Description
The Paw Bus provides structured dog transportation and supervised outdoor hiking experiences within Ottawa, Ontario.
Services may include:
Group dog transportation in a secured vehicle
Structured pack hikes on approved trails
Supervised socialization
1:1 training sessions (where applicable)
Membership-based recurring services
Single ride bookings
All services are provided by trained handlers and in accordance with Ontario animal welfare standards.
2. Payment Terms
Payment is required in advance for all services.
Memberships are billed monthly unless otherwise stated.
Single rides must be paid at the time of booking.
Prices are listed in CAD and are subject to HST where applicable.
Late or failed payments may result in suspension of services.
The Paw Bus reserves the right to update pricing with prior notice.
3. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged the full service fee.
Membership clients who miss scheduled days without notice are not entitled to credits or refunds.
4. Weather Cancellation Policy
The safety of the dogs is our priority.
Services may be cancelled or modified in cases of:
Extreme heat
Extreme cold
Severe storms
Hazardous trail conditions
Poor air quality
In the event of a weather cancellation:
A credit may be applied to the client’s account
An alternative structured activity may be offered
Weather decisions are made at the sole discretion of The Paw Bus.
5. Late Pickup / Drop-Off Fees
Owners must ensure dogs are ready at the scheduled pickup time.
Delays over 10 minutes may incur a late fee.
Repeated delays may result in service suspension.
If a dog cannot be accessed safely at pickup time, the ride will be forfeited without refund.
6. Right to Refuse Service
The Paw Bus reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service if a dog:
Displays aggressive or dangerous behavior
Is unvaccinated
Is ill or injured
Poses risk to other dogs or handlers
Has undisclosed behavioral issues
Safety always comes first.
7. Vaccination Requirements
All dogs must provide proof of up-to-date vaccinations including:
Rabies
DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo, Parainfluenza)
Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
Dogs must also:
Be free of contagious illness
Be on flea/tick prevention
Be in overall good health
The Paw Bus reserves the right to request updated veterinary documentation at any time.
8. Liability Limitations
By using The Paw Bus services, the owner acknowledges:
Dogs participating in group hikes may interact physically.
Minor scratches, play-related bumps, or dirt may occur.
Outdoor activities carry inherent risks.
The Paw Bus, its owners, employees, and contractors shall not be held liable for:
Injuries resulting from normal dog play
Pre-existing medical conditions
Illness not directly caused by negligence
Escapes resulting from undisclosed behavioral issues
Nothing in this agreement limits liability where prohibited under Ontario law.
9. Emergency Veterinary Consent
In the event of injury or medical emergency:
The Paw Bus is authorized to seek veterinary care.
The owner agrees to be financially responsible for all veterinary costs.
Every reasonable effort will be made to contact the owner first.
If the listed veterinarian is unavailable, an alternative licensed veterinary clinic may be used.
10. Off-Leash Consent Clause
Certain hikes may involve controlled off-leash activities in permitted areas.
By signing this agreement, the owner:
Confirms their dog has reliable recall (if approved for off-leash)
Accepts risks associated with off-leash activity
Acknowledges that off-leash privileges may be revoked at any time
Dogs who do not qualify will remain on long-line leads.
11. Photo & Video Release Clause
The Paw Bus may capture photos or videos of dogs during services for:
Social media
Website content
Promotional materials
By enrolling, the owner grants permission for media use unless written opt-out is provided.
No personal owner information will be shared publicly.
