Safety is First

At The Paw Bus, safety is not an afterthought — it is our foundation.
Every decision we make prioritizes the physical and emotional wellbeing of your dog.

Secured Transport

Dogs are transported in a properly equipped vehicle using secure safety systems designed specifically for canine transport.

  • Structured loading and unloading procedures

  • Secure placement during travel

  • Controlled environment inside the vehicle

  • Calm, organized pack transitions

Your dog’s safety begins before the hike even starts.

Structured Pack Supervision

We do not allow chaotic or unmanaged group play.

Every hike includes:

  • Carefully selected pack groupings based on temperament and energy

  • Active supervision at all times

  • Controlled social interaction

  • Ongoing behavior assessment

Pack balance is maintained intentionally to ensure safe, positive experiences.

Vaccination & Health Requirements

All participating dogs must:

  • Be up to date on core vaccinations (Rabies, DHPP)

  • Have current Bordetella protection

  • Be free of contagious illness

  • Be in good physical condition for outdoor activity

Proof of vaccination is required prior to participation.

We reserve the right to request updated veterinary documentation when necessary.

Emergency Veterinary Protocol

In the event of illness or injury:

  • Immediate assessment is conducted

  • Owners are contacted promptly

  • Veterinary care is sought if required

By enrolling, owners authorize The Paw Bus to seek emergency veterinary treatment if they cannot be reached.

The health and safety of your dog will never be delayed due to uncertainty.

Insurance Coverage

The Paw Bus operates with appropriate business coverage including:

  • Commercial vehicle insurance

  • General liability insurance

  • Care, Custody & Control coverage

We are committed to operating as a professional and responsible service within Ottawa.

Right to Refuse Service

Safety always comes first.

The Paw Bus reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service if a dog:

  • Displays aggressive or dangerous behavior

  • Has undisclosed behavioral concerns

  • Poses risk to other dogs or handlers

  • Is not medically fit for participation

Not every dog is suited for structured pack hikes — and responsible decisions protect everyone involved.

Our Promise

Your dog is not just transported.
Your dog is supervised, structured, and respected.

We operate with intention, discipline, and care — because your trust matters.
